SERVICE DESCRIPTION
The Target EMTEL service utilises a 5 Hz Electromagnet wave to transmit MWD / LWD Data to surface, replacing conventional Mud Pulse Telemetry. This enable the MWD / LWD tool to transmit data in circumstances where conventional Mud Pulse Telemetry is not possible i.e. Under-Balance Drilling, Air Drilling. The EMTEL Transmitter is compatible with all Target’s MWD sensors.
The system has been designed with the same packaging philosophy as other Target MWD services with downhole electronics being sonde based, modular and able to fit all collar sizes from 9½" O.D to 4¾" O.D.
The EMTEL transmitter can be used in conjunction with Target Directional Gamma, Resistivity and PDD MWD systems to provide real time directional, gamma, phase resistivity and Annular Pressure data.
