SERVICE DESCRIPTION
The Target Gamma MWD service provides a real time API equivalent gamma measurement which is both transmitted and stored in downhole memory. The real time gamma log is suitable for correlation purposes, lithology identification and real time pore pressure prediction with a recorded log providing a high density wireline standard gamma log.
This service incorporates depth tracking equipment, which is certified for use in hazardous areas (intrinsically safe) and safe area processing computer.
A continuous log of API equivalent formation natural gamma radiation points versus depth is provided in all the standard wireline compatible standard log is provided after the bit run by plotting the data stored in memory.
The gamma module is compatible with all Target Directional MWD systems down to 31/8" O.D and service can be rapidly upgraded at the wellsite. No need to deploy extra complete downhole assemblies from the shore base - the gamma modules and extra surface equipment are heli-transportable. Standard service provides for safe area installation of the surface equipment, although a MWD cabin based service is optional.
The gamma modules are self powered and can be run stand alone in recording mode or in conjunction with Directional MWD service for real time data transmission.
